Hunter Business Chamber announces
High profile business leader, Steve Davidson has announced he will not seek re-election as President and Board Member of Hunter Business Chamber.
Mr Davidson, the principal and founder of Davidson Accountants, has been a Director of the Chamber and of its predecessor, Newcastle Regional Chamber of Commerce, for the past 14 years.
He will stand down at the Annual General meeting in October.

The Chamber's Board & staff have carefully considered the position of many of our members and have decided to postpone the 2007 Hunter Business Awards Dinner and therefore the award nomination process.
We believe that a postponement will allow our members and the wider business community to concentrate on recovery.
Rescheduled event date is now Friday 31st August at Wests, Starlight Room

Due to the impending storm and some flash flooding in the area this morning the Hunter Business Chamber (HBC) has postponed the 'MyBusiness is your Business' function that was to be held at Davson Art studios in Shortland this evening toa new date of Tuesday 3 July.
HBC will be phoning all guests to confirm they have received this information.

Our region has experienced one of its greatest natural disasters and for many that has meant great loss and hardship. The Hunter Business Chamber would like to extend its best wishes to all those that have been affected. What is also becoming more apparent is the major impact on local businesses.
We were pleased to note that Federal and State Governments are already providing financial relief. The insurance industry has also been quick to respond to this natural disaster.
