Local rocker Craig “Rosie” Rosevear is the driving force behind a music single and family concert day to pay tribute to, and raise funds for the volunteer and rescue services who worked so valiantly during the June long weekend storm.
Rosevear has recorded a stomping version of the aptly titled Rose Tattoo anthem “We Can’t Be Beaten” with a host of local music legends including Grant Walmsley (Screaming Jets).
A video for the song will be shot on Thursday 5 July at the Tighes Hill TAFE campus featuring local sporting identities, Ben Donaldson, Hunter Jaegers, Newcastle Jets, emergency, volunteers, Police and more, with editing to be done by Sticky Advertising at One80 Digital Post.
“We Can’t Be Beaten” is also the name for a free tribute concert Rosevear is organizing to say thanks to everyone who worked so hard to help the community during the storms and flooding.
The concert is slated for 22 July on the Newcastle Foreshore with a strong line-up of family and rock acts already committed.
Companion Credit Union has already signed on as major sponsor for the event with a generous donation to assist with the staging of the event.
The single will be available to purchase at Companion Credit Union branches throughout the region.
The video and concert details will be available to view online at huntersbest.com.au.
All funds raised from the single and concert will be donated to registered local rescue and aid charities.
Media are invited to cover the video shoot at Tighes Hill TAFE from 2pm Thursday 5 July 2007. Craig Rosevear is available for interviews to discuss the single and event.
